Dr Paul Gachet

Van Gogh painted his doctor Paul Gachet, who took care of him when he was in an asylum at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The painting consists of rich cool and warm blues in the background. Vibrant oranges and reds in the doctors face and table give a nice pop. Van Gogh often uses complementary colors in his paintings to give depth.
